9.400RPM VW GOLF MK1 Berg-Cup || 300HP/800KG ONBOARD Acceleration & Sound Drag & Track by turboandstance - March 9, 2024March 9, 2024 This is Rainer Schoenborn´s Volkswagen Golf GTi Mk1 Hillclimb machine but now driven by his daughter Claire, one of the Fastest Women in European HillClimb Racing. It has evolved into one of the most impressive Berg-Cup machine in the last couple of years. Powered by a 2.0L Touring Car Engine (similar to the one used on the Audi A4 BTCC units) tuned by Minichberger up to around 300Hp/9.400Rpm, it is now as fast as it is good sounding. And more than that it is proof of how high the standard of a top Berg-Cup car in the incredibly competitive 2.0L Class. Adding to that incredible motor, we have a 6-Speed SADEV sequential gearbox featuring an Hydraulic Power Shift system operated by a single Paddle on the Steering wheel, AP Brakes with Racing ABS, Race-grade Traction Control with Launch Control incorporated, making sure that this Old -School machine is now equipped with Top-of-the-Line modern electronical “wizardry” At around 800Kg it is quite the light machine, featuring Full Carbon Fiber doors and Hood, with all this aided by KW Suspensions. The beautiful widened bodywork now filled with Aerodynamic appendages provides proper Downforce and is the final touch on this little Monster. Surely time will bring even more improvements and we are curious to see them,and Claire will keep evolving behind its wheel and this season surely will be battling for the coveted 2.0L Class Berg-Cup championship.
