LOTUS Elise V8 Hayabusa || VS || Longest HillClimb in EUROPE Drag & Track by turboandstance - May 2, 2024May 2, 2024 With Over 17.3 Kilometres, finishing at over 1640 metres of Altitude, 8.8% of Elevation gradient and coutless turns and hairpins, this is Trento-Bondone, located in the North of Italy connecting Montevideo (in Trento) and Vason (in Bondone), and is pretty much the European counterpart to Pikes Peak and possibly with an even crazier Layout! Today we discover the legendary Italian Hillclimb onboard the spectacular Lotus Elise V8 by Michl Motorsport and driven by Dan Michl. Using the Elise/Speedster chassis at its core, it is from that point on, a highly modified beast, with the most notable feature being the unique engine used. Powered by a Hartley V8 unit in Naturally Aspirated form, it is capable of 430Hp/11.000Rpm. This unique engine is built by “fusing” 2 Suzuki Hayabusa Engine heads all mated to a totally custom Engine block, making this Dry-Sumped motor one of the lightest and most competitive V8 blocks ever. And here it finds the perfect “home”, in this mid-engined, 730Kg, carbon fibre body which has been developed for wll over a decade now and leaving its mark in European Hillclimb Racing just as long.
